Before You Come (optional)

Think ahead and plan how to load your solid waste materials to speed up unloading during your visit.
Separate out recyclables from items you are throwing away
If using an open truck or trailer bed, put a tarp on to keep debris from flying off into traffic (and as a bonus, keep the rain off so as not to incur extra water poundage when being weighed).
Download our on-site map of where various waste materials are to be dropped off (don’t worry, we will have extra copies at the main weigh-in scale).

We are located just over 2 miles north of the Bellingham Airport and a half-mile west off the I-5 Freeway Exit 260.

Driving west on Slater Road, through two roundabouts, you will see a sign at the intersection of LaBounty Drive for RDS. Turn Right.

Look for the RDS / Recycle sign from the road.

On the in-bound scale, our staff can answer questions and direct you to where to unload your materials. You will be weighed here and give a token ticket to track your vehicle, weight, and material types. Once you have been weighed, given a ticket token, and directions, then you can proceed to the right location to unload your material.

Here are the general locations that our staff will point you towards. We also have RDS staff in orange vests throughout the facility if you need further directions.

The Steps

Wait for your turn to move onto the in-bound scale to be weighed.
Talk to our friendly staff about what you are disposing / recycling so they can check you in and direct you to the right spot (ask any questions you might have).
Drive to the designated bins (see PDF map above).
Unload your trash / recyclables.
Check out at any of our three outbound scale (they are all interconnected) to be reweighted.
You can pay with cash, checks and Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit cards.
Head back to the LaBounty Drive and enjoy the rest of your day.
